Author Comments

This track was partly inspired by this forum thread where atozix suggested that perhaps there were too many difficult obnoxious tracks, and a lack of tracks that were just fun to drive. After thinking about it, I realized that many of my tracks lately had been stupidly hard and that it was time to make something fun, easy, and smooth.

This track also owes a touch of inspiration to Large and Large 2 by spale; both of those tracks demonstrate that it's possible to think very big and work in very broad strokes and create a challenge that's fun (and non-frustrating) to drive.

I also spent a fair amount of time on the replay on this one, so remember to check it out.

If you like it, please award.

Also, thanks for mentioning Large and Large2. I just tried them as well

re the fast author time..
These days i usually set a slightly lower author time and post a replay to make it easier for first drives...
In fact i usually dont try tracks without a replay...

Ron, thanks for the award, but also for the detailed feedback! I was actually a little hesitant re: that uphill landing the second time around. The only thing that kept me from changing it is getting a couple of awesome landings by tapping right as I leave the ramp and letting off the gas a little--it basically landed me right at the corner and I whipped around it as I hit without losing any speed at all. It's not easy, and it could be sort of annoying if you prefer gunning it all the time, but at least it's not *impossible* to keep your speed? Maybe I'm just rationalizing laziness too. On the big jump, I was hoping that the signs up above help...
(and yeah, spale makes some great stuff--I would have felt guilty if I hadn't acknowledged the inspiration.)

ato, thanks for checking it out and thanks for the award! I'll try to get a replay up for you later today. [Edit: There you go.]

DaKKoN, I'm glad you liked it, and thanks for the award! I'll try to make more smooth fun-to-drive tracks in the future.

Discomb, LOL, thanks for the award man.

"Glad to test a more normal track from you"
hahahahaha, yeah, I know what you mean. Thanks for the kind words and the award Andree, I appreciate it.

Well = i posted a time but a little more on the jumps...

I find the long jump the easiest and very nice i might add....
It's the other jumps that i find very hard to keep good speed with consistently. This adds quite a chancy element to the track...
Nonetheless it is a good track....

Cherrrrrrrsssssssss ato;)

Wow. Nice time man! I'm impressed. I had fun watching the replay--not sure if I'll be able to beat you...

Shadow, thanks for the award! I'm glad you liked the track--and yeah, it is quite a change of pace for me. <--Not a bad thing.

[Edit: Panis, thanks for the award; I appreciate it. I'm glad you liked the track!]

[Edit2: SkunkY and s8ndm8n, thanks for the awards and the comments! SkunkY, I'd be curious to hear what parts in particular you think are too hard for rounds--the landings are sometimes tricky depending on air control and physics hiccups, but I'm not sure if that's what you mean...]

Big, open and beautiful!
Really great track with great speed and good design!
Nice intro and good outro.
2 things prevents it from being awesome though; The 2nd time you use the first jump you land uphill if your speed is great which brakes oyu a bit. An alternative route for the fast ones would be great. And on the big diagonal MT jump It's a bit tricky to get a perfect landing. (It's a bit hard to aim really good). This jump is really cool though.
These are very small issues, and I mention them mostly to elaborate how great the rest of the track is, cause these parts are good and the rest of the track is even better
Great work!!

Hi pjw...

I think the track is cool and has excellent elements to it and good architecture...
But as far as pursuing a good time the chancy nature of landing the jumps is a bit frustrating 4 me...

That's a pretty good author time to beat as well..

Lovely track
High speed maintainecne and 2 great jumps.
After driving it 2 times, you know where to jumps will lead you to and there isn't a problem at all anmore in this track.
I like uncomplicated drives

An excellent track which is a relief from the insanely hard "too hard for you" 's.
I agree about the faults, but they don't overshadow the racing though.

Nice one!

Very cool track! Good speed with some nice technical parts and cool drops. The big mt-jump is very nice.
I must admit that I find the track a bit hard though for rounds. Maybe I'm wrong.
Great work!
